Norland, one of the UK and Ireland’s leading facilities management providers, has been retained by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) following a competitive tender. The new contract extends the relationship between the two organisations to twelve years and makes the FCA one of Norland’s longest-standing customers.
Formerly the Financial Services Authority, the FCA regulates the financial services industry in the UK. Its aim is to protect consumers, ensure that the industry remains stable and promote healthy competition between financial services providers. Norland will continue to manage and maintain all mechanical and electrical systems at the FCA’s two office buildings in London, Canary Wharf and build on the many innovations and improvements it has made to date.
Martin Batstone, Business Unit Director, Norland said: “Customers will always vote with their feet if they don’t get the service they expect. The competitive nature of our industry makes our re-appointment by the FCA even more exciting and we look forward to continuing our partnership for many more years to come. I’m also delighted that Norland is maintaining its overall customer retention rates well in excess of 90%”.
Norland have worked as the FCA’s FM partner for over twelve years now and the close working relationship between the two companies has helped the Authority maintain high-quality, efficiently-run business facilities. Based on their intimate knowledge of the site, Norland were appointed in the role of ‘prime contractor’ when the FCA (in its former guide as the FSA) undertook an extensive building refit. Norland has also carried out a series of extra works for the Authority including the provision of a new ‘Uninterrupted Power Supply’ (UPS) deployed for its energy saving credentials and ability to provide better resiliency.
